SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento businesses will feel effects of the federal government shutdown, as government buildings are emptied of potential customers.
Todd Pederson with the Bureau of Reclamation is one of at least 1,000 federal workers likely to be furloughed at an Arden-Arcade office complex after a government shutdown.
“If it last more than a couple of weeks its going to start hurting,” he said.
Bill Young will be at home and not getting paid, and he’s made the budget battle in Congress will now fall on his shoulders.
“Grow up, quit fighting, pass a budget, and then fight all the problem you have with Obamacare,” he said.
And with those workers staying home, businesses like Steve Graham’s deli will be hurting.
“The line to the door will be cut in half,” Graham said.
He won’t be furloughed, but he’s planning on taking a hit…
