Five men have been arrested in connection with a series of smash and grab robberies across the GTA, including a theft of nearly $100,000 worth of merchandise from a Yorkville Prada store.
Some of the Prada handbags were allegedly recovered in the suspects’ homes during their arrest, said Det. Bruno Miron of Toronto police. Other items were also found, such as paintball guns, garden tools, and tire rims, that police believe may have been accumulated in other robberies. More property was found on a boat of one of the accused, said Det. Miron. A series of raids by Toronto and Peel police over the last week led to the arrests.
Between Aug. 30 and Sept. 18, the suspects are alleged to have broken into nine different businesses, including a paintball store in Rexdale, auto shops in Vaughan and Etobicoke and a garden tool store in Mississauga, said Det. Miron.
